Iced Coffee

Fancy Iced Coffee with Cream in a GlassOk, so anyone who knows me, knows I am a big fan of iced coffee. My local Dunkin Donuts loves me! They know my exact order! ­čÖé┬áIced Latte, extra Snickerdoodle (in season, otherwise caramel), skim milk! Oh so good! Even when I’m working from home, I am usually running out in the morning for my DD!

However, I have┬álearned from one of Ree Drummond’s blog posts, how to cold brew coffee. This helps cut the bitter flavor and is really good also.

Her original recipe can be found on the Pioneer Woman blog. My version follows below.

Iced Coffee


  • 4 oz ground coffee (I use Cafe Buestelo, Pilon or Illy, ground espresso blend)
  • 2 quarts cold water
  • Milk (optional)
  • Sweeteners (optional)


  1. Fill a 2 qt jug with water.
  2. Mix in 4 oz ground coffee.
  3. Let sit for 8 hours or overnight.
  4. When ready, strain the coffee liquid through cheesecloth or very fine strainer.
  5. Fill a glass with ice, coffee and your favorite milk, sweetener and/or flavorings!


I like to use sweetened condensed milk in mine. This makes it similar to a Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Its delicious!
